Digital Matter Falcon - Installation tank monitoring
1
.
Connecting Sensor
Connect the supplied sensor correctly to the gateway.
2
.
Activate batteries
1. Remove the strip to activate the batteries.
Once inserted, the LED next to the GPS antenna should blink briefly. If it does not, it means that the unit has not yet been reset. In that case, remove the batteries for about two minutes to drain any residual charge, then reinsert them.

.
Close housing
- Place the lid on the gateway and squeeze it gently till it is closed. The foam in the lid will press against the batteries and hold them firmly in place when the unit is flipped over.
- Tighten the 6 screws evenly. On initial assembly, the screws may be quite stiff.
Be sure to place the cover correctly. The foam should lie over the batteries. If you screw the cover on incorrectly, you will damage the gateway.

.
Installation
The gateway can be mounted with screws, bolts, cable ties or industrial adhesives to the object to be tracked.
Be careful when choosing a mounting point!
- Reduce the chance of accidental crushing or detachment.
- Increase GPS and cellular reception by mounting the gateway in a good location. Provide adequate ventilation.
When the gateway is used as a battery-powered device, reception is critical to its performance.
Do not place the gateway under a steel cover plate to avoid reception problems.

After installation
1. After installing the gateway and sensor in the tank, fill the tank completely.
2. If no assets have yet been created in your project from the tank, do so first. You can also change the name of an existing asset, should this be necessary.
3. To visualize the newly installed tank, add it to an asset group.
4. Modify the metadata "Tank100pct" and enter the 4-20mA value here when the tank was completely full.
Please note! The tank monitor sends its data every hour, wait until you are sure it is the highest value.
5. When you have customized your metadata you can use the path "tank_level," this path is percentage based
adding assets, Asset groups, modifying asset metadata ,changing asset name

Replacing batteries
The following batteries are recommended: "SAFT LSH14".
When a 4-20mA sensor is connected to the gateway, Lithium Thionyl Chloride (LTC) batteries should be used. Not all LTC batteries are built the same. Spiral type batteries are preferred. Bobbin type batteries may not be able to deliver enough peak current.
If you want to replace the batteries and open the housing, make sure the silicone seal is in good condition before closing the housing again.
