What do we want to achieve?
We want to receive an SMS receive when an asset's temperature is above 30°C and an e-mail above 20°C.

Step 1: create an event with the asset type

By clicking on "edit"
you can create the necessary event definitions. Here you can
threshold values and levels.
The arrow between
"threshold values" and "level" columns indicates the order of the
threshold values. When this arrow is pointing upwards, the
order of the threshold values should be ascending (starting from the bottom).
When the arrow is pointing down, the order of the
threshold values should be decreasing (starting from the bottom). If this is not
the case, you get an error message and cannot save the event definition
save.
Don't forget to
"save."
In this example temperatures below 20°C are normal. At temperatures of 30°C or more, we want we want to receive an error message, and at intermediate temperatures a warning.

Step 2: create a notification preset to the asset type
Notifications can set for the different levels, which you just added to the event, and for the available communication channels, including mail, SMS and voice message. You can do this via "notification presets notification preset is also set at the asset type.
Set the notification types as desired. In this example we want to receive an SMS when the temperature of an asset exceeds 30°C, this is set as level "Error", and an e-mail above 20°C, this is level "Warning". The level for "Portal" should match the lowest level of the other notification types.

Step 3: create a notification role in notifications
With notification roles
allow you to combine different notification presets of one or more asset types
into one role.
In the
navigation bar on Notifications and then go to Notification Roles.
Click on "Add
add notification role" and set up the notification role as desired. You can select
multiple notification presets. Finally, click on "Save".
In this example
we create the notification role "Temperature Alarm".

Step 4: enroll the desired user in the notification role
Registering a person is also done through the notifications page.
Press the "+" button to add an entry. Then select the assets or asset groups for which the notification should serve.
When you click "Next," you can assign a notification role assigned to users. Please note that a user can only have one role have. Finally, click "Save" again.
In this example, "Calculus User" is enrolled on notification role "Temperature
Alarm" for the asset "Calculus Office Omega".
He will receive an SMS when the temperature of the asset exceeds 30°C
and an e-mail above 20°C.
