Introduction
This manual describes how to exchange the current gateway of an asset with another.

Requirements
- You have the user rights "GatewayManagement" and "AssetManagement".
- You must already have created assets and associated gateways in your project.
- We recommend that you review the articles below so that you are well prepared for this manual.

Switching the gateway
1. Go to the tab
2. Click on the asset whose gateway you want to switch.
3. Press the "Swap data source" button if it is visible. If not go to the "Manually swap data sources" subsection of this manual.
4. Type the serial number of the new gateway in the "With" section, and click "Swap."
5. A new screen opens where you can review the changes again.
Click "Confirm" if the changes are correct.
When the swap isn't 100% successful you will also receive a message about this.
The data sources which can be exchanged successfully will also be exchanged. For data sources where this does not succeed, they must be entered manually. Please refer to the section "Manually swapping data sources" of this article.

Manually exchanging data sources
The instructions in this section should only be performed if the "Swap data source" button is not available or if you prefer to make the data source adjustments manually.
1. For a data source, press the "Edit" button to the right of the name. 
2. Click "Add data source."
If you leave the mouse pointer over a data source (don't click), the raw address appears in a black bar with the slave id at the back. You can see this pictured below.
3. When adding a new data source, enter the date when it is built in. To do this, click the toggle button called "Use start date."
Then you can click on the field, to the right of the toggle button, to select a date.
4. Enter an end date for the old gateway. This is the date it was replaced. You can enter an end date by clicking on the timeline for the old gateway. An example of a timeline is shown in the image below.
5. Click the "Use end date" toggle button.
Then you can click on the field, to the right of the toggle button, to select a date.
6. Press "Save."
